Motion Reel lets you schedule reels and publish them to your social accounts. It is run by Tuned Tech LLC ("we"). This page explains what we collect, why, and how to have it deleted.

What we collect

  • Your Motion Reel account: your email address. If you sign in with Google, also your name and Google account ID. Sign-in codes are stored only as one-way hashes and stop working after 10 minutes.
  • Accounts you connect: when you connect Instagram, Instagram gives us your professional account's ID, username, name, profile picture and an access token. When you connect YouTube, Google gives us your channel's ID, handle, name, picture, an access token and a refresh token. When you connect TikTok, TikTok gives us your account's ID, username, display name, picture, an access token and a refresh token. Tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored.
  • What you schedule: the videos you upload, their captions, the accounts and times you pick, and the options you set for each platform.
  • Results: after a reel is published, its link and its statistics from the platform: views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves and average watch time (on YouTube: views, likes, comments, shares and average view duration). We don't collect statistics from TikTok.
  • Invite requests: the email you enter, if you request an invite.
  • Technical data: our host, Cloudflare, logs standard request data such as IP address and browser for security. We set one cookie to keep you signed in (and a short-lived one during Google sign-in). We don't use advertising cookies, analytics or trackers.

How we use it

Only to run Motion Reel for you: to sign you in, publish the reels you schedule to the accounts you choose at the times you choose, show whether each one went out, and show how each one performed. We never post anything you didn't schedule.

We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. Motion Reel shows no ads and no content from third parties.

Instagram

When you connect an Instagram professional account, Motion Reel asks for these permissions:

  • instagram_business_basic: to know which account you connected (its ID, username, name and picture).
  • instagram_business_content_publish: to publish the reels you schedule, with your caption and options.
  • instagram_business_manage_insights: to show each reel's statistics in your dashboard.

Only if you turn on comment-to-DM automations, it also asks for these, and Instagram tells us about new comments on your reels:

  • instagram_business_manage_comments: to see comments on your reels, so an automation can answer the ones with your keyword, and to post the public reply you wrote.
  • instagram_business_manage_messages: to send the one DM you wrote to the person who commented, as Instagram's reply to their comment.

For each comment an automation answers, we keep the commenter's username and the comment, so you can see what it did. We don't read your other messages, and we don't message anyone who didn't comment.

We use what Instagram gives us only for these purposes, in line with Meta's Platform Terms. You can disconnect at any time from your dashboard, or remove Motion Reel in Instagram under Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites.

YouTube

Motion Reel uses YouTube API Services. If you connect a YouTube channel, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Privacy Policy applies to it. Connecting YouTube is separate from signing in with Google: signing in never asks for YouTube access. Motion Reel asks for these permissions:

  • youtube.upload: to upload the videos you schedule to your channel, with the title, description and settings you choose.
  • youtube.readonly: to know which channel you connected (its ID, handle, name and picture), and to check that videos Motion Reel uploaded still exist and read their counts.
  • yt-analytics.readonly: to show watch time and shares for the videos Motion Reel uploaded.

We only upload what you schedule, never change the visibility of your existing videos, and don't read your other videos, comments or subscribers. We use this data only to run Motion Reel for you and share it with no one, apart from sending your video to YouTube when it's uploaded.

Removing access: disconnect the channel in your dashboard, and we revoke our access with Google at once and delete the channel's data. You can also remove Motion Reel from your Google Account's security settings at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions; we check every day that our access still works, and delete that channel's data within 20 days of finding it removed. Deleting data in Motion Reel doesn't delete anything on YouTube.

How long we keep YouTube data: tokens, until you disconnect or remove access. The channel's name and picture are re-read from YouTube at least once a day. A video's statistics are refreshed every 6 hours for its first 30 days and every 30 days after that; if the video has been deleted on YouTube, we delete its statistics. Questions or complaints about how we handle YouTube data go to support@motionreel.app.

TikTok

If you connect a TikTok account, the TikTok Terms of Service and the TikTok Privacy Policy apply to it. Motion Reel asks for these permissions:

  • user.info.basic and user.info.profile: to know which account you connected (its ID, username, display name and picture).
  • video.publish: to post the videos you schedule to your profile, with the caption, visibility and settings you choose for each post.
  • video.upload: when you choose to send a video as a draft, to put it in your TikTok inbox for you to finish in the TikTok app.

We only post what you schedule, with the settings you chose for it, and don't read your other videos, messages or followers. We use this data only to run Motion Reel for you and share it with no one, apart from sending your video to TikTok when it's posted.

Removing access: disconnect the account in your dashboard, and we revoke our access with TikTok at once and delete the account's data. You can also remove Motion Reel in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security & permissions → Apps and services permissions; we delete that account's data within 20 days of finding our access removed. Deleting data in Motion Reel doesn't delete anything on TikTok.

How long we keep TikTok data: tokens, until you disconnect or remove access. The account's name and picture are re-read from TikTok whenever its access is renewed.

Google

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address and Google account ID, and use them only to sign you in. Motion Reel's use of information received from Google APIs, including YouTube, adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the database and your uploaded videos. It also sends our emails.
  • Meta (Instagram) receives your video and caption when a reel is published, because publishing means sending them there.
  • Google (YouTube) receives your video, title, description and settings when a video is uploaded to your channel.
  • TikTok receives your video, and for a direct post your caption and settings, when it's posted or sent to your TikTok inbox.
  • Google handles sign-in if you choose to sign in with Google.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and what you schedule: until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
  • Uploaded videos: until they have been posted to every account they were scheduled for, or a week after posting one failed. A video no post uses is deleted after a day. A posted reel's still image stays with the post.
  • A connected account's tokens and details: until you disconnect it, remove Motion Reel in Instagram, TikTok or your Google Account, or delete your account. Then we delete them, along with that account's statistics (for YouTube, see above).
  • Comments an automation answered (the commenter's username and comment): 90 days, or until you delete the automation or disconnect the account.
  • Sign-in codes: 10 minutes at most. Sign-in sessions: 30 days, or until you sign out.

Deleting your data

See data deletion for the ways to remove a connected account or your whole Motion Reel account. You can also email support@motionreel.app from the address you sign in with to see a copy of the data we hold about you.

Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Access tokens are encrypted before storage, and sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes. Only the people who run Motion Reel can reach the database.

Children

Motion Reel is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If a change matters to how your data is used, we email you before it takes effect.
