The MCP server for reels.Your agent posts. You approve.
Connect Claude, Codex, Cursor or any MCP client. Your agent can upload a reel, schedule it to Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, set up comment-to-DM, answer comments and read the numbers, and it shows you a preview before anything changes.

Connect
Connect your agent in a minute.
Sign in to Motion Reel first. Claude and Codex then sign in with your account; everything else uses a key from the dashboard.
Claude Code
Run this in a terminal. The first time Claude uses it, your browser opens: sign in and click Allow.
claude mcp add --transport http motionreel https://motionreel.app/mcp
Claude app
In claude.ai or Claude Desktop, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste this URL, then sign in and click Allow.
https://motionreel.app/mcp
Codex
Run these in a terminal. The second opens your browser to sign in. The Codex app and IDE extension pick it up too.
codex mcp add motionreel --url https://motionreel.app/mcp codex mcp login motionreel
Cursor and other clients
Make an API key in the dashboard under API & MCP, then add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Other clients send it in an Authorization: Bearer header.

Safety
It checks with you first.
Built so an agent can do the work without surprising you.
- Every tool that changes something only previews it until the call says confirm, and Motion Reel tells your agent to show you the preview and wait for your yes.
- Scheduling takes an idempotency key, so a retry never posts the same reel twice.
- Claude and Codex sign in with your Motion Reel account, and you click Allow. There's no key to copy or leak.
- A key can be read-only. You can revoke any key or sign-in from the dashboard at any time.
- Your agent only sees your workspace. Connecting accounts stays with you, in the dashboard.
FAQ
Questions
What is an MCP server?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how AI agents like Claude use other apps. Motion Reel's MCP server gives your agent tools to upload, schedule and check on reels, the same ones the dashboard runs on.
Which agents work with it?+
Claude Code, the Claude app, Codex and Cursor, and any other MCP client that speaks Streamable HTTP.
Do I need an API key?+
Not for Claude Code, the Claude app or Codex: they sign in. Cursor and other clients use a key you make in the dashboard under API & MCP.
Can my agent post without asking me?+
Every change comes back as a preview first, and Motion Reel tells your agent to show it to you and wait for your yes. A read-only key can't change anything at all.
Is there a REST API too?+
Yes. The same operations are at https://motionreel.app/api/v1, with an API key in an Authorization: Bearer header. GET /api/v1 lists every endpoint.
Can my agent connect new accounts?+
No. You connect Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts yourself in the dashboard, with each platform's own login. Your agent works with the accounts you've connected.
