Show it in the profile grid: On, it shows in your grid and the Reels tab. Off, only in the Reels tab.
Trial reel: Off, shared with followers when you decide, or shared by Instagram if it does well.
When: Now, or any day and time up to a year ahead, in your time zone.
Preview: The reel as Instagram shows it, to scale, with what Instagram's buttons and caption cover.

What you need

A professional Instagram account, Business or Creator. Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app.
You connect it with Instagram's own login. No Facebook Page needed.
For comment-to-DM, Instagram asks you to allow comments and messages when you connect.
MP4 or MOV, up to 300 MB. 1080 × 1920 (9:16) looks right everywhere. Reels can run up to 15 minutes.

Do I need a business account?+

You need a professional account, Business or Creator. Instagram only lets apps publish to those. Switching is free and takes a minute in the Instagram app.

What's a trial reel?+

A reel Instagram shows to people who don't follow you first, so you can see how it does. You can share it with your followers later, or let Instagram share it if it does well.

Does comment-to-DM work on every reel?+

You choose one reel or every reel on the account, and a keyword or any comment. Each person gets one DM per reel, and your own comments never trigger it.

Does Motion Reel change my video?+

No. It posts the file you upload as it is, with no watermark or logo added.
